First Thoughts

The reasons for this project!

For my self directed project i have decided to make a Chanel style ladies suit, the steriotypical Chanel image.

I am interested in learning about tailoring and plan to specialise in this subject area, i know i am not amazing at tailoring which is one of my main reason for specializing in it. I know it is an area where i can increase my knowledge, and one thing i am good at is wanting costumes to look perfect is every aspect , which is a vital part of tailoring. Everything is very precise.

I thought i would ease myself in to tailoring a entire costume by begining with soft tailoring, which is regarded as slightly easier than male suit tailoring.

I love couture Chanel, so decided that this was the direction that made most sence to me. An area i love would in theory help me stay focused. Its working so far :)

Plus i get to play with gorgeous fabrics, and sourse and buy Chanel like trimings.
