Changes made to costume as a result of 1st fitting!

During the 1st fitting i had to make a few changes to the fit and size of the suit.

From simple things like tappering in the skirt, to give it a more defind pencil shape, to moving the pocket forward on the jacket closer to the centre front, and lowering the neckline, jacket side seams were taken in a few inches, the jacket hem was taken up a few inches and the sleeve was moved up on the shoulder slightly.

Pins were placed in the cloth instead of marking it with chalk.

Although there seemed to be alot of changes made, i was happy with the 1st fitting. The costume looked great, and the changes that needed to be made were not going to be too hard.

All i need to do now is to transfer the changes on to the pattern pieces ready to cut out on to top fabric.

I found this original 1950's pattern, in the university archive, so used this to help me draft my patterns.
There are similarities between this original pattern, and the one i plan to make, which made drafting easier for me.
But i didnt rely on it, didnt expect everything it to be identical.
Made some changes of my own, such as the jacket neckline, and the length of the jacket, and the skirt shape.
But it was a good starting off point.
